The pursuit of lean is endless.
From May 24 to 26, 2023, Teacher Wu made his seventh visit to Shandong Gaoqiang for the second phase of Lean training.
From May 24 to 26, 2023, Teacher Wu made his seventh visit to Shandong Gaoqiang for the second phase of Lean training.
On the 24th, a project communication meeting was held to report on and discuss the tasks left over from the sixth overseas visit, and we invited Teacher Wu to provide guiding advice.
On the morning of the 26th, a site-based Lean Improvement Conference was held. At this conference, Workshop No. 2 for Machining and the Surface Treatment Workshop presented and reported on their respective improvement projects. Director Liu Peng from Workshop No. 2 for Machining gave presentations on three projects: "Improvement of Straightening for F04900634," "Improvement of Straightening for Sinotruk 200V90020-0421," and "Improvement of Measuring Jigs for Straightness and Coaxiality." Director Pan Shanjie from the Surface Treatment Workshop presented on two projects: "Improvement of Blueing and Phosphating Fixtures" and "Self-Made Pneumatic Mixer."
Teacher Wu stated that the on-site lean improvement conference had achieved exactly the vision she had at the time. The on-site lean improvement conference organized by Shandong Gaoqiang has now reached a mature stage. What we need to do now is to keep up the momentum—this is Gaoqiang’s secret weapon and invaluable experience. We should make it a regular practice to hold such conferences once a month, with two workshops presenting their improvement projects each time.
General Director Diao summarized the conference, noting that many of our improvements were triggered by product defects. Such improvements should be implemented in every workshop, and workshop managers need to continuously identify further opportunities for improvement.
Improvement is a continuous process—sometimes it takes three rounds of improvement, and other times five, before we finally reach the ideal state. As long as we keep taking action and addressing even just one small issue at a time, our company will keep making steady progress.
In the afternoon of the 26th, the company organized a training session for mid-level managers on team building within work teams. The training focused primarily on how to build high-performing teams, the importance of communication, and effective communication techniques.
